    • 1). Flip the Q9H over and lay it on a table. Push down on the silver button just above the battery cover, and then slide the cover toward the bottom of the device. Pull up on the right side of the battery to remove it. If you have an SD card in the device, lift the flap on the right side, push in on the SD card to release it, then pull it out.

    • 2). Pick up the device in both hands. Place a thumb on either side of the Motorola symbol near the top of the device. Press down with both thumbs while you push them up toward the top of the device. The top piece will eventually slide up slightly. Pull up to remove that piece once it is loose.

    • 3). Place the Q9H back on the table. Remove the five T6 screws that surround the back housing. There is one screw in each corner, and one along the left side.

    • 4). Insert your pry tool between the front and back housing along either side of the Q9H. Move the tool up and down the side, releasing the clasps, then repeat the process on the other side. Finally, release the clasps on the top and bottom, then lift up to remove the back housing.

    • 5). Insert your pry tool underneath the control board located just above the big green space where the battery normally sits. Lift up to remove this board and pull up on the cable connector that you reveal when you remove the board.

    • 6). Insert your pry tool underneath the large, green control board. Lift up to remove the board from the front housing.

    • 7). Peel off the piece of black tape located just above the LCD. Run your pry tool along the bottom of the LCD to release a single clip. Then lift up on the bottom of the LCD to remove the LCD from the device.
