Rock Hill is in South Carolina and is the largest city in York County. Winthrop University makes up one of the city's five historic districts, some dating back to 1760. Rock Hill rests within miles of the border of North Carolina and possesses a number of vacation destinations for visitors to the town. - The Museum of York County is a natural history museum as well as a showcase for cultural history and the arts. The highlight of the museum is the African collection, featuring the Clifford collection of art. Also included in the museum is the Settlemyre Planetarium and a kids center with exhibits and hands-on activities for the entire family.

chmuseums.org - Historic Brattonsville rests on a 775-acre Revolutionary War site. The land includes more than 30 historical structures ranging from the 1760s to the 19th century. The land received a National Registrar in 1971 for historical places and opened to the public in 1976. Since 1998, the site has been part of the York County museum organization. Special events occur in March, July, September, October and December every year.

The park contains 13 roller coasters, five thrill rides, a 12-acre children's area and a number of family rides. Included with the price of admission to the park is entrance to the Boomerang Bay water park. The water park includes water rides, slides and swimming fun. Also included at the theme park is Peanuts cartoon shows including "Snoopy Rocks! On Ice."
