    Wired

    • Standard doorbells are the wired systems that produce a bell or chiming noise and require electricity to operate.

    Wireless

    • Wireless doorbells run off of a transmitter rather than wires and electricity. Although wired doorbells have been the standard, wireless options are becoming increasingly more popular due to the ease of installation. As a result, they are also ideal for rental properties.

    Doorbell Intercom

    • These systems allow the homeowner to talk to visitors outside from inside the home, and can even be installed to allow interaction from several locations throughout the home.

    Mechanical Doorbell

    • These doorbell systems are often popular in older or historical homes. Visitors approach and turn a knob, which activates bells inside of the home.

    Driveway Doorbell

    • Driveway doorbells are run through a sort of alarm system that is activated when a vehicle approaches the home. These systems are generally wireless.
