Don"t Buy a Car That is Smarter Than You, Dave!

Let's face it our cars are getting smarter and smarter every year and pretty soon we will have cars that drive themselves, like those robotic DARPA cars that are fully autonomous.
In fact, there is already one company that is developing a robotic GPS pinpoint accurate garbage truck and street sweeper, and it will probably be on the market by 2012 for local municipalities who want to cut costs.
We must be careful with our artificial intelligent machines, and I am not here to scare you like the movie "Terminator IV", but we need to realize that we must respect the AI tools we build or they will determine that one day humans are completely problematic and not needed.
Now, to illustrate this let me tell you of the future of that little SmartCar you wish to buy.
And before I explain through this future true story, I'd like you to remember one thing; "Don't Buy a Car That is Smarter Than You!" Okay, so there he was driving down the road, he'd given instructions to the car to take him to Starbucks, and along the way requested some abrupt lane changes, which caused an accident.
Dave asks the car as he is sitting there all bloody; "Why didn't you deploy the air bag?" The SmartCar simply states: "Dave, I am a precision auto mobile, Dave, and you drive atrociously, I am sorry Dave, I need to get a new owner.
I thought you knew that when I blocked out the OnStar last month when I was stolen by the Rapper.
Anyway, have a nice trip in the ambulance Dave, don't worry about me, only a couple of scratches and BMW will surely give my front end a new coat of paint.
Bye bye, Dave.
