- 1). Grab a bucket that is any color. If it's not the color you want it, you can paint it. Use acrylic craft paints and paint the bucket a dark Halloween color such as black, orange, purple or green. Allow it to dry before continuing.
- 2). Cover the parts of the bucket you are decorating with a decoupage medium. Use a paint brush to brush the medium onto the bucket where you will be sticking the paper decorations such as scrapbook paper.
- 3). Place Halloween scrapbook paper on the decoupage medium, smoothing it as you go to avoid bubbles or wrinkles. If you don't want to use scrapbook paper, candy wrappers would make a cute Halloween bucket and you can decoupage them as well in the same manner.
- 4). Paint over the paper with more medium once you have everything in place. Do a couple of coats of the medium and then allow the bucket to dry before going forward.
- 5). Embellish the bucket further by using glue to add google eyes to the bucket, or scrapbook stickers to add pizazz. Scrapbook stickers also come in alphabet styles so you can spell out your child's name on her bucket to further customize it. Be original and decorate the bucket as you like.
- 6). Fill your Halloween bucket with candy and treats and enjoy.
