How to Get a Guy to Dance at a Homecoming or Prom
- 1). Allow him to ease into the evening. There's a lot of peer pressure for a guy at a homecoming or prom dance. They want to make sure they are appearing "cool." Allow him to see his friends, goof around a bit and become comfortable in the setting.
- 2). Corral your friends to get their dates to dance as well. There's nothing like strength in numbers. If you and your girlfriends hit the dance floor and bring along their dates, the guys will have to succumb eventually.
- 3). Start with group dances to break the ice. A lot of times guys are a bit shy when it comes to dancing with their dates. Again, it goes back to the "cool" factor with everyone else watching. If you get a bunch of peopled involved in a group dance, it'll help break the ice.
- 4). Lead him to the dance floor. Sometimes you simply need to take matters into your own hands. If a couple of hours have passed and the guy you're with at the homecoming or prom is still a wall flower, then it's time to lead him to the floor. After all, you guys came together, the least he owes you is a dance.
- 5). Be fun throughout the evening. One thing guys don't respond to is a nag. If you make the evening fun, keep things light, and don't make it seem as if you're pressuring him to dance, you'll have a lot more luck getting him on the floor.
- 6). Request a song you know that he loves. Whether it's "your song" or a song that is constantly on his play list, getting a tune blaring that he'll respond to will help him get his groove on.
