Make sure not to consume carbohydrates when they are not needed! The best time to add carbohydrates into your diet is when you first wake up and before and after workouts.
This is important to losing fat as a body builder.
If you consume carbohydrates at those given times you can be sure that you will be burning them off instantly.
If carbohydrates are consumed before you go to bed or on days you have taken off, they will be stored as fat, therefore your body will keep packing on the pounds, rather then taking it off.
Eating 5-6 meals a day will help your body to conduct a fast metabolism to help you burn fat rather then store it.
By eating too little you are allowing your body to feel starved.
When a human body gets hungry it is instinct to eat whatever we can find to fill ourselves up.
This will lead to the consumption of fatty foods and sweets; neither is healthy for a body builder.
By eating 5-6 meals a day, you are keeping your body full and content, while quickening your metabolism.
You must maintain at least three training days out of the week.
Without participating in this your body will not be able to maintain its muscle mass and strength.
Too much cardio and less weight lifting will also result in low muscle mass.
Cardio is meant to burn fat, if you are only partaking in it and not lifting, your muscles will gain nothing, you will lose weight but that is not the main priority of body building.
Drinking at least a gallon of water a day as a body builder is beneficial to your health and training.
Drinking higher amounts of water then what is recommended will help your liver conserve fat for energy.
More than a gallon of water a day should be consumed if you are obese, or if it is a hot and humid day.
On hot days your body will release double the water through sweat, as will your body if you are over weight.
