One of the highlights of summer is northeast Ohio is attending the plethora of county fairs that dominate the July and August event calendars. Though they are somewhat smaller than the Ohio State Fair in Columbus, the collection of area county fairs are fun, affordable and show off the best of our region.


Cuyahoga County Fair


The Cuyahoga County Fair, begun in 1893, is held each August at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea and celebrates the county's agricultural heritage. Although Cuyahoga County is now more urban than pastoral, there are still plenty of animal and produce exhibits at the fair as well as rides, music, food, and fun.

Among the many events at the Cuyahoga County Fair are arts and crafts judging and demonstrations, farm animals and produce judging, midway rides, harness racing, a horse show, contests, live music and other entertainment, a demolition derby, and motocross racing.More »

Ashtabula County Fair

Held at the Ashtabula County Fairgrounds in Jefferson each August, the Ashtabula County Fair highlights the bounty of Ohio's largest county. Activities include live entertainment, plenty of fair food, rides, 4-H livestock events, motocross racing and a tractor pull.More »


Geauga County Fair

The Great Geauga County Fair, held at the Geauga County Fairground in Burton over Labor Day weekend each year, has been delighting residents since 1823. The five-day event features livestock, live entertainment, a midway of rides, and lots of fair food, just to name a few attractions.

The Geauga County Fair, Ohio's oldest fair and one of the oldest agricultural fairs in the United States, features more than 12,000 exhibitors and more than 2000 animals. Other attractions include a midway of rides, live entertainment, fair food vendors, and much more.More »


Lake County Fair


The Lake County Fair, held at the Lake County Fairground in Painesville each August, has been delighting residents each year for more than 90 years. The six-day event features livestock, live entertainment, a midway of rides, and lots of fair food, just to name a few attractions.More »


Lorain County Fair

Lorain County, located west of Cleveland, celebrates its agricultural heritage each year with a seven-day fair, held at the Lorain County Fairgrounds in Wellington. Begun in 1846, the fair is the second largest of Ohio's county fairs.

Events include midway rides, motocross racing, a truck and tractor pull, live entertainment, livestock exhibits and an antique and craft show.

Lorain County Fair is one of the most affordable in northeast Ohio. In addition, children under 8 and members of the military are admitted free and there is a free senior citizen day each year.More »


Medina County Fair


Medina's county fair is held at the fairgrounds in Medina each year in late July and early August. The week-long fair began in 1845 and has grown to become one of the top agricultural fairs in Ohio. Events at the Medina County Fair include free, live entertainment, midway rides, livestock shows, a horse show and plenty of fair food stands.More »
