- 1). Access the digital compass from the main computer screen. Press and hold the "Select" button on the computer until the digital compass is displayed. When accessing the compass in "Dive" mode, toggle between the alternate displays using the "Up" and "Down" buttons.
- 2). Calibrate the digital compass. Press and hold the "Select" button on the computer until the digital compass is displayed. Press the "Down" button. Press the "Select" button. When prompted, rotate the computer 360 degrees, keeping it flat and level. Do this until you receive the "Passed" confirmation message.
- 3). Lock a bearing. When in compass mode, point the compass in the direction you wish to travel. When the direction is displayed in the center of the screen, press the "Select" button to lock the bearing. The bearing will be locked in and stored in the memory until you change it by pressing the "Select" button again to take a new bearing. The compass will indicate--with arrows pointing back toward the correct bearing--when you stray off course.
