How to Remove Adhesive From Suede
- 1). Scrape the adhesive from the suede, using a blunt knife, such as a butter knife, to remove as much of the sticky stuff as possible.
- 2). Mix mild dish soap well with warm water, producing plenty of soap suds and foam.
- 3). Soak a sponge (choose a light-colored one to avoid having the color of the sponge transfer to the suede) lightly into the suds and apply to the adhesive to be removed. Rub in a gentle fashion.
- 4). Mop up the excess water and soap with a small cloth and then let the suede dry completely. If you're still not satisfied, repeat the process.
- 5). Spray the suede item with a suede protector after you remove the adhesive to protect it from future problems. You can purchase suede protector at a shoe or leather shop.
