First of all, I do not intend to bring pain and sadness to those whose relatives no longer live.
It is just that I want to release my feeling of guilt for not being able to do what I should have done when was still alive.
Did it ever occur to you that same feeling? Did you ever wish to bring back the past and fill up the gap between you and your Dad or rewind it and edit it the way you want it? Past is past, I could not bring it back again except the memories.
Somehow it brings a little happiness to me.
I also gave me a better outlook in life.
It gave me lessons that gave me directions on how to become a good father so that I could share it to my sons and to other Fathers out there.
I was only eighteen years old when my Father died.
We are very poor and have very little money.
Before my Father died he stopped working due his health condition.
It has something to do with the side effect of too much smoking cigarette.
At that time, me and my three other sisters are staying in Manila, are all working students, while my parents with my other eight smaller brothers and sisters are in the province.
Yes, we are a big family, I wish my parents knows how to practice family planning before.
Unfortunately, it was not popular during those days.
Back then, I was not yet in the position to give him any financial help since I am still a working student.
The telephone facilities in our place before were very poor.
We did not have the time to see our Father before he died.
This is what I regret of not being able to do so.
Even now! I did not have the chance to tell him personally how I love him.
If my Dad is still alive today, what gift shall I give him? Why would someone like me spend time to think about this idea? Would it help me? For me, it will not, however, for others who are Fathers that are still alive will get an idea on what gift personalized gift they can give to their Dad this coming Father's Day.
My Dad likes to go fishing very much, so this is one of the activities I would arrange for him.
We will go fishing together.
We will hire a fishing boat and go out of the Pacific Ocean.
He loves to play chess too.
For sure I am going to buy him a new set of Chess with a set of unique pieces.
Then we can play chess together.
Since it is a Sunday, we can watch together cock fight matches in our town's Stadium.
He loves to eat fish cooked with coconut oil.
This is one of my favorite too.
I will make sure my mother cooks it for him for our dinner.
One of the things we do when he is alive is going to movies.
I can bring the latest DVD available in the market.
He loves music too.
I will make sure I get a copy of the old songs and music he likes.
Then we could play and listen to it together before the evening ends.
And last but not the least a big hug and whisper in his ear the word, I love you Dad, and I am proud of you to be my Father! It is a super whole day affair Father's Day package that is what I would prepare for my Father if he is still alive.
I am sure he will love it.
In conclusion, for young people out there, make the most of your time to show your love and care to your parents.
Life is too short.
Respect your Father.
If he is already old, show him how important he is to you.
In that way, it will increase his will to live longer.
Remember, once he is gone, he is gone forever.
Do not let my experience happen to you.
Go and tell your Dad how much you love him and how proud you are to his Father.
Do not wait for Father's Day.
Do it now! I wish you all a Happy Father's Day.
