Watertable

• Ranked as one of the 10 best restaurants in Baltimore by 10best.com, Watertable has wraparound views from its perch above the Inner Harbor. Although the freshly caught crab cakes are a house favorite, chef Ontaria Kirby's specialty is the tuna, which is served with garlic mashed potatoes and adorned with basil oil made with herbs grown on the restaurant's rooftop garden. Captain James Landing

• A Baltimore landmark since 1978, Captain James Landing is famous for its breakfast buffet and excellent views. The restaurant offers a wide variety of seafood from local waters, such as crab cakes, lobster tails and stuffed shrimp. The specialty of the house is the steamed Maryland crab with "Boardwalk Fries," but there are also non-seafood options, including chicken, steak and pasta. The restaurant has inviting decor that is made to look like a ship, inside and out. You can take in the panoramic views of the water on its expansive outdoor patio.
  
  

Phillips Harborplace Restaurant

• Phillips Harborplace Restaurant got its start elsewhere in Maryland in 1956 and expanded to Baltimore more than 30 years ago, so there is a long-standing tradition of pride in this restaurant. Located next to the Harborplace Pavilion, this restaurant wins special raves for its fried oysters, crab and lobster sauté, and the all-you-can-eat buffet. If seafood is not your thing, there are steak and chicken dishes available as well. You can take in the views of the harbor with its outdoor patio or take advantage of its $3 happy hour specials at both of its interior bars.
  
  

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant

• Although McCormick & Schmick's is a chain restaurant, it has a respectable menu and an ideal location right on the harbor at Pier 5. Diners often take advantage of the patio to enjoy the marvelous views of the water. House specialties include Seafood Newburg, crab cakes and rockfish topped with crab and black bean salsa. The decor is, not surprisingly, nautical with handcrafted walnut wood along with beveled and stained glass that creates a sophisticated atmosphere similar to that of a private club.
