Pool Warm Up: How To Do It
In case you don't know, pool is like any other sports like cycling, swimming and running.
After all, it is a world class professional sport! As a pool player, you need to perform warm up on your strokes.
You stroke is all there is to your game.
If your stroke is consistent, you will inevitably dominate the game.
How do you warm up? Simply perform a few strokes without hitting anything at first.
Take your time and don't rush the process.
Feel the stroke come together and become like how you want it to be.
After all, it is already deeply ingrained inside your subconscious mind all this time, whether you like it or not.
Balance Keep your balance intact.
Make sure you are distributing your weight properly, making your stance correct.
Don't lean on one side.
If you get everything right, you should feel comfortable.
Position of your body Check the distance between your body and the cue ball.
Is it too far or near? This will indirectly affect your cue stroke when you swing your right hand (if you are right handed) back and forth.
Bridge Check your left hand (if your dominant hand is left, usually the dominant hand controls the cue).
Your bridge must be still at all times during the warm up strokes.
Cue Make sure it falls within your line of sight.
When you pull it back, do you see it aligning itself with this line of sight? The line of sight is also known as line of shot.
It should be straight at all times.
Aiming Test your stroke on a cue ball.
Does it hit in the line of shot perfectly as you had intended? Eyes Make sure your head is still.
Don't even move your body.
If you move your body, your eyes will move too.
