Although Atlanta has its share of golf clubs and courses with their own driving ranges, golfers can find other facilities in and around the city that are primarily designed for practicing. Many of these driving ranges have lights and offer personalized instruction. They also have other practice facilities such as putting greens and chipping areas. - The Northcrest Golf Driving Range in Atlanta is equipped with 150 tee areas located on two stories. It also has practice tees available on natural grass along with a chipping green and putting green. The driving range is 360 yards wide in an open area. Another plus is the driving range has lights and stays open until 10:30 p.m. The Northcrest Golf Driving Range has multiple instructors who provide lessons. Additional facilities on the property are a clubhouse, a pro shop with equipment for sale and rent and a snack bar in the clubhouse. The driving range is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

The range has lights and is open daily until 10 p.m. Featuring four professional instructors, the driving range provides lessons, clinics and golf schools. After warming up on the driving range, golfers can also take advantage of the club's 18-hole, par-61 executive course that has 12 par-3 holes. The course has Bermuda grass greens and some holes that have a links-style design. Other holes have tree-lined fairways. Steel Canyon also helps golfers arrange group outings.

Grand Slam also has golf instructors who offer lessons and provide computerized analysis of your swing. Six of the tee stations are covered at a range with lights. Club repair and fitting is available along with loaner clubs for both children and adults. Other practice facilities include chipping and putting greens. Soft drinks and snacks are for sale on a property that has covered picnic tables. In addition to private golf lessons, Grand Slam hosts golf clinics. Two baseball and three softball batting cages are situated on the grounds.
