What Can I Get the Girl I Like for Valentine's Day?

    Children

    • Interests always depend on age. A small child has simple -- as well as cheap -- options at his disposal. Most classrooms go through the process of creating Valentine's Day cards. Students generally create or bring cards for the whole class. One option is to spice one up with a piece of candy and give it to the person you like. If you're feeling bold, add a personalized note.

    Adolescents and Teenagers

    • Probably the most difficult choices to make during Valentine's Day come during pre-college years, when insecurities abound and reputation becomes critical. During this time, a simple gift says a lot -- traditional chocolates always work well, assuming the recipient enjoys sweets. Flowers are another gift with which you can't go wrong. During this time period, entertainment tends to rank high on the list of likes, so going with something creative, such as two movie tickets and a note, might be memorable.

    Create Your Gift

    • Although creativity runs wild in elementary school, it's much less prevalent in adults. If you want to impress a girl, try taking a few lessons from kids and make her a card or gift. A simple card asking her if she'll be your Valentine will go a long way -- as she probably hasn't received one of those in years. Make sure to create a drawing and make block letters like a child would; this also serves as a clever way to get around drawing skills, or lack thereof.

    Experiences

    • Material gifts will last awhile, until they either fade or become jaded with time. Experiences, on the other hand, can last a lifetime. If you really like a girl, then opt for something that's less of a physical gift and more of an experience. This might require a little creativity and should be based on her personal preferences. Check with local venues to find out if there are tickets available to events, such as concerts or plays; if all else fails, shoot for movie tickets. A clever picnic setup might be another successful option. Try to time things around the most romantic time of the day -- sunset.
