With such popular tourist destinations as the San Francisco Bay area as well as San Jose and the world famous Wine Country, Northern California is one of the most scenic regions of the Golden State. Visitors to this area of the West Coast are interested in enjoying the many public golf courses that the region has to offer. - Opened in 1925 and named after President Warren Harding, the Harding Park Golf Course is located along the shoreline of Lake Merced in San Francisco. This Northern California public golf course has hosted several large PGA golf tournaments, including 2005's WGC-American Express Championship that featured such players as Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods. Hole number 7 on this 18-hole golf course is considered to be the most difficult one even though it is a par 4 hole.
Off-season is from December 1 through the last day of February every year, and the Harding Park Grill, which is located in the clubhouse, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week.

Since then, thousands of players have enjoyed the beautiful greens and well-kept fairways. A full practice area for strengthening your drives is located near the clubhouse area, and two putting greens are available to practice your short game as well. The large and comfortable clubhouse serves lunch on a daily basis, and weddings are performed inside the clubhouse as well.

This golf course features a great view of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge as well as the Pacific Ocean. For many years, the Lincoln Park Golf Club was the only public golf course located in this region of California, and it is still one of the most popular public courses on the West Coast because of its scenic beauty and friendly golfing staff.
