New Running Shoes Are the Business
It took me an hour to do a local run over the hill and back, something that should normal have taken me 45 minutes.
It's all to easy to get out of the habit of running, just a few weeks backing off on your training can prove a problem in continuity of speed, energy levels and general performance.
Much of this summer has been quite haphazard in training for me; in my week I might not do anything, then the next cycle 48 miles, swim and do some weight sessions.
Another week it might be 72 miles plus on the bike, 10 miles running and no weights.
I'm not a very organized person and organisation is deteriorating fast.
I don't know.
Does it sound familiar? I really hope this isn't just me having a hard time keeping my training on a level.
I know I probably shouldn't be writing just about myself here but I know from past experience that a little retail therapy can help to boost the want, the need, the desire to put some training hours in.
And a little shopping to buy a new pair of running shoes, or running leggings doesn't just inspire you to try them out that one day after you bought them, instead the new pair of trail runner shoes can actually get you back in love with your time on the track, or road, wherever it is you like to train.
I'm sure most of us no that we should replace our running trainers after 500 miles but I think that we can do ourselves a favour in our enjoyment of running if we invest a little more often so that our feet feel good and our body responds to the fresh trainers.
I'm not suggesting having as many road running shoes as we might high heels but something new and bright does wonders for our minds.
So, what will it be? New Asics running shoes, perhaps some trail runner shoes or just some random running apparel.
Who knows, but if you're feeling a little lack lustre in oomph then a little shopping might suffice.
