    Short Term

    • The most common side effects include redness and irritation at the site of the injection along with soreness. Some have reported having drainage from the site.

    Long Term

    • Soreness or redness at the injection site has lasted up to three months in some individuals. Drainage at the injection site may not happen until a few months after the injection has been done. Some people receive permanent scarring from the injection.

    Allergic

    • Allergic side effects include swelling at any part of the body including the face, tongue, or mouth. If you experience those side effects or difficulty breathing, seek medical attention.

    Internal

    • A few months after the injection, some people experience bone and muscle pains, especially in the legs. Others have experienced open muscle lesions that can be treated with medication or sometimes surgery.

    Rare

    • In rare cases, a person can actually contract Tuberculosis since the vaccine is made of a partially live virus. Local health officials are prepared to deal with outbreaks in areas where vaccines are administered.
