How to Make a Payment on a Student Credit Card
- 1). Find the address for your credit card company. Look on your billing statement or call the customer service number on the back of the card to ask. You can also check the website for your card company. Click the customer service tab for payments.
- 2). Mail a check or money order to your credit card company. Write the account number on the check or money order. Allow several days for the payment to appear on your account. Or go on to the next step for another option.
- 3). Call your card company. Ask if the company can accept payment using your bank checking account and routing number, also known as an "electronic check." Give the representative your routing number, which is a nine-digit number at the bottom left of your personal check. Your account number is the set of numbers immediately to the right of the routing number. The payment will be credited to your student credit card the same day or the next business day and the money will be withdrawn from your account in usually one to three business days. Go on to the next step for another option.
- 4). Send a payment by wire transfer. Visit a money transfer or payday loan store to make the transaction. Tell the clerk you want to pay a bill using money transfer services. Fill out the proper forms and include the name of the bank and your account number. The clerk will confirm that your credit card company can accept payments via wire transfer. Pay the fee associated with the payment and wait for your receipt. The payment will post to your account within one business day. Go to the next step for another option.
- 5). Call the customer service number on the back of the card and ask where you can make a payment in your local area. Provide the representative with the name of your city or your ZIP code while he looks up the information. Visit the location and make your payment using cash or check. The payment should post to your account within a day.
