The New Mexico State Aggies had a terrible NCAA Football Picks [http://www.charliessports.com/index.asp] season in 2009. The Aggies have a clean slate and a new attitude, but the question is do they have the talent to match the new attitude to start the 2010 season. New Mexico State ranked last in the FBS in total offense and scoring offense, there's a new offensive coordinator that could change the pathetic offense in Las Cruces. There is a quarterback battle and it will continue into fall camp. Last years starter Jeff Fleming will duel with junior college transfer Matt Christian for the starting job to open the season, Fleming made too many mistakes at costly times and that led to a 3-10 season, 1-7 in the WAC conference. The offensive line blocked very well for running back Seth Smith, who had over 1,000 yards rushing. The wide receivers are very raw this season and the new offensive coordinator has to do some kind of upgrade, this sports handicapper believes some defensive backs may have to become wideouts. The Aggies went 5-6-1 against the spread in 2009 and 3-9 on totals

The 2010 New Mexico State defense should be better against the run this season, they were terrible in 2009. Highly ranted junior college transfer, linebacker Frank Padilla should be able to fill the need at that position. New Mexico State will try to have 3 athletes at the linebacker position, instead of big slow guy's that can't fill gaps. The strength of the defense is the secondary, cornerbacks Davon house and Jonte Green are very good, House may be the best in the WAC. Punter Kyle Hughes often pins opposing offenses deep into their own territory, returns also in 2010.
