Creating Valuable Content For Your Website to Build Traffic

For those who have a website, building and maintaining quality traffic is important to grow your business.
By quality traffic, this means visitors who are interested in what your site offers and will return on a regular basis to see what is new.
Keeping your content fresh and interesting is important to keep your visitors coming back for more.
At the same time you are trying to keep your visitors coming back, you are trying to remain relevant to search engines.
The good news is that search engines attempt to emulate a typical internet user by focusing on sites that have relevant, fresh and original content.
A dynamic site holds more value than a static site that has not changed in months.
Having content that was added a few days ago and which is not found on other sites will keep your site relevant to both search engines and visitors.
If you have a blog, keeping fresh content is as simple as writing about the niche in which your blog resides and doing so every few days at a minimum.
At the same, it is important to add fresh content outside of your site which links back to your site.
With a blog, it means commenting on postings on other blogs in your niche.
This helps to generate more interest in your blog along with additional comments.
You want to create a community or network where people will return again and again.
If your site is not a blog, consider starting one to generate additional interest and offer your customers or visitors a means to comment or add their input.
When there is regularly updated content, people will return to see what is new, especially when they can add their voice to the discussion.
The more frequently that content is updated, the more often people will return.
Adding content outside of your site is every bit as important as adding content to your site.
Content such as press releases, articles, videos and blog postings all act as funnels to your site, especially when they reside on sites with higher levels of traffic.
A press release allows you to write and publish sales copy when something new and noteworthy has taken place with your business.
Articles enable you to demonstrate your expertise and build your reputation within your niche.
Adding a video tutorial or interview can bring in a whole different type of visitor that is more into viewing content than reading it.
Just as there are people who prefer movies to books, there are internet users who would rather watch and listen to what you have to say than read about it.
Finally, provide feedback and comments on blog postings to add value and attract people who are interested in what you have to say.
One final point to consider is originality.
Sometimes business owners are looking for a short-cut and want to save time in creating content by purchasing already published articles from others.
This will add content to your site, but since it is not original, it will not hold much value with search engines and most of your visitors will ultimately realize that you are not adding value or putting your own ideas out there.
They will hear the same thing that they have heard from other sites.
Be yourself, write original content and your traffic and your corresponding following will grow in time.
