1970s Cocktail Waitress Uniforms
- All you need to get your basic 1970's cocktail waitress uniform together is a white button-down shirt, a short black skirt, an apron, a hairnet and some platform shoes. Take it up a notch by substituting the top and skirt for a little black dress. Add some props for "authenticity." Paint the inside of plastic martini glasses with green, red or other color paint to make fake cocktails. Glue them to a serving tray and trick fellow party-goers!
- Finally win that costume contest this year with a fabulous group costume. Shop as a group to find matching black dresses or shirt and skirt combos. Get outfits that are as similar as possible if not identical, including the aprons and shoes. Optionally, go together for a pre-party makeover and request similar make-up shades. Truly dedicated partiers can even opt to dye your hair all the same color or wear matching wigs.
- Get into the spooky Halloween spirit by adding some scariness to your 1970's cocktail waitress uniform. Paint your face white and apply blue lipstick to be a "dead cocktail waitress" or become a "cocktail waitress zombie" by adding fake blood to your costume and around your mouth, and by using a green-tinted foundation. You can even rip your costume for an added touch. Put a dab of clear nail polish on the ends of any rips to avoid accidental over-exposure.
- Have some disco fun with your 1970's cocktail waitress uniform by adding roller skates and an afro wig. Guys can get involved by skipping the skirt and opting for bellbottoms. Hosting a party? Take the costume to a superstar level by executing a mid-party costume quick-change. Go from cocktail waitress to lounge singer in mere minutes by ditching the apron and hair net and grabbing a microphone.
