How to File a 2006 & 2007 Tax Return
- 1). Locate 2006 and 2007 income tax forms on the Internal Revenue Service's website. Tax year 2006 and 2007 returns cannot be filed online and must be mailed to the IRS. You will find income tax forms for both years under the Prior Year Forms, Instructions and Publications link.
- 2). Print copies of the returns for both tax years, as well as the instructions for both years. Use your 2006 and 2007 income tax information to fill out your income tax form. Your employers and financial institutions mailed forms such as W2s, 1098s, 1099s and other tax information to you in early 2007 and early 2008.
- 3). Review your tax returns. Correct any mistakes before you sign and date the forms. Locate the mailing addresses in the instructions for each form. Your state of residence will determine where you will mail your completed forms.
- 4). Send a check with your returns if you owe tax. Your check should be made out to the United States Treasury. You will receive a letter from the IRS stating your late fees once your return has been filed.
