How to Dress Up a Queen Anne Chair
- 1). Select a pillow to coordinate with the chair fabric. Choose a color from the background if the fabric has multicolored design. If the fabric is a solid color, pick a complementary color that you have used throughout the room. Popular Queen Anne fabrics are chintz, crewel, damask, needlepoint, velvet and tapestry.
- 2). Drape a lightweight throw over the back of the chair. Arrange the throw off to one side and allow it to drape down the back and across the seat. A heavy throw is too overpowering for the refined features of a Queen Anne chair.
- 3). Match an ottoman to the fabric of the chair. For a slight contrast, if the chair fabric is solid, opt for a pattern on the ottoman fabric using complementary colors.
- 4). Cover the arm rests and the top of the back of the chair with lace-trimmed doily. Back and arm covers protect the fabric from becoming soiled with oil from the skin and hair and adds a pretty feature.
- 5). Place a floor lamp with soft lighting off to the side of the chair. A lighted lamp in the evening will showcase the chair.
