C-60 IH Engine Specs

According to Ironsearch, the IH C60 was introduced in 1998 and made until 2002. This engine was primarily used in agricultural tractors. It has an independent power take off and is a workhorse in agricultural use. Most are still in use today - Introduced in 1998 and manufactured until 2002, the Case IH C60 was to bring the brand into compliance with EPA requirements. The engine sold for a little over $22,000 in 1999. This engine was primarily used in agricultural utility tractors. Standard for the C60 were mechanically driven front wheels.
- The transmission is a collar shift. They are also known as constant mesh transmissions as all the gears engage simultaneously by the driving gears. The collar slips over a notch in the side of the selected gear and the engaged gear is mechanically connected to the shaft. According to Tractor Smart, manual shift transmissions, while not as user-friendly as some of the other types, tend to have cast iron durability. The transmission drives two wheels, it has eight forward gears and four gears for reversing.The transmission fluid capacity is 20 gallons.
- The hydraulic system is an open 3 Pt. Hitch Cat. I, II. The hydraulic valve flow is 16 gallons per minute. There are two hydraulic outputs rated at 50 horsepower. The power takeoff operates at 540 rpm, has 6 splines on it, with a diameter of 1 3/8 inches.

The engine is a three-cylinder, 165-cubic inch displacement diesel. There is a turbocharger driven by the exhaust fumes and not by direct mechanical drive. The fuel tank holds 31.7 gallons of diesel fuel.
