How to Buy Fair Trade Products
- 1). Visit food markets, department stores and grocers that carry Fair Trade certified products. Natural foods and independent markets may have a larger selection, but Fair Trade items can also be found in national grocery and retail chains like Target and Walmart. See the link in Resources for a list of Fair Trade product retailers.
- 2). Search product packaging for the black and white "Fair Trade Certified" symbol showing a person holding two bowls and standing in front of a globe. This same symbol is used by every company selling products that have been certified as Fair Trade. See the link in Resources for a picture of the Fair Trade symbol.
- 3). Purchase and use the Fair Trade products you find to determine which ones are of a quality that you would like to enjoy again. Repeatedly buy the Fair Trade products you like to directly influence the future of their production.
