The Obama Administration and the Congress have levied fees on all toys coming from China.
Unfortunately, this includes all toys that also come from the North Pole.
The elves union that works at the Santa Claus Corporate Campus is fit to be tied.
They are staging "FEE Parties" in Washington DC and they are sending "red and green slips" to all the Congressmen to show their frustration and anger.
What happened was that Congress did not read the bill that they passed and they didn't notice that the North Pole was included in the tariff taxes for toys.
In fact, no one read the bill to see what was in it before it was signed.
The Elves were unable to get to Capitol Hill in time to lobby against the bill which was rushed through the House and Senate due to Amtrack delays and lack of funding for the commuter train.
Now, the elves are waiting for Congress to get back from vacation to stage another demonstration on Capitol Hill.
Unfortunately, all the Congressmen have left for the Thanksgiving holidays in their private corporate jets, and tax payer funded aircraft.
The elves don't want to go all the way back to the North Pole, only to have to come all the way back again for their future "FEE Party" and so they are staying in the Washington DC area until which time the Congressmen come back from their elongated vacations.
Santa Claus said; "Ho ho ho, this couldn't have come at a worse time, we are already behind schedule and we have 100 million orders to fulfill before Christmas.
If the elves don't get back soon, we won't finish in time and hundreds of millions of children won't have their Christmas.
Apparently, our Congressmen either need to take some "speed reading course" or stop playing around with free trade.
