Postpartum Depression has been in the news recently because of celebrity moms, such as Marie Osmond that have made their cases public to help others.
There are of course some serious cases in the news where moms have killed their children believing she and they would be better off.
Postpartum Depression typically shows up from a few weeks to up to 6 months after the birth of your baby.
Some of the symptoms of Postpartum Depression-PPD include insomnia, weepy and sadness all day, along with loss of interest in activities, concentration difficulty, and a change in your appetite.
You may have erratic mood swings, excessive guilt, and panic attacks.
Intrusive thoughts of inadequacy as a parent and/or hurting your baby have occurred.
Something called Postpartum Psychosis can also present itself causing hallucinations.
Bizarre thinking could occur and you could become delusional.
