Boney To Buff - 3 Mantras To Put Muscle On Them Skinny Bones
Trying on new clothes at the store is like torture as you attempt to find something that fits without showing your boney shoulders and thin arms.
Wouldn't it be great to wear a tight t-shirt which shows your bulging pecs and big guns? Imagine walking in to a nightclub and seeing all the girls' eyes follow you; or walking onto a beach and not being ashamed to take your top off.
How would that kind of confidence change YOUR life? Thankfully, achieving it is not as tough as some folks make out...
but the key is in understanding certain principles.
Without these you are pretty much doomed to failure.
The 3 muscle building mantras to help you go from boney to buff are: 1.
Muscle Building Starts In The Kitchen 2.
You Are When You Eat 3.
Muscles Grow When You Rest Let's take a look at each one a little more closely...
1.
The common mistake made by many people is the idea that muscle is made in the gym, but this is not really true...
it's only one piece of the puzzle.
The thing that really brings it all together is your diet and nutrition plan.
A poor and undisciplined meal plan is a major reason why skinny guys never go from boney to buff.
A detailed meal plan is too big for this article, but you should aim to eat around 6 times per day making sure you time your meals appropriately - the pre and post-workout meals are the most important as your muscles require more energy (carbs) and more protein at this period more than any other throughout the day.
2.
This brings us nicely on to the second mantra which emphasises the importance of timing your meals appropriately.
But first of all, a quick science lesson...
When you workout your body burns energy for fuel, right? If it runs out of fuel it will go for looking for more...
and in some cases it will find it in the glycogen stores in your muscle tissue.
The ready supply of glycogen in your muscles is easier and quicker to access and process as energy than your fat stores.
So in other words...
if your body is depleting your muscle tissue of necessary proteins and glycogen, how can those muscles grow? Eating well before and immediately after a workout is absolutely essential to gain muscle.
3.
The final mantra is largely overlooked due to the "more is better" idea of modern society, i.
e.
if you gain muscle working out 3 times per week then surely 6 workouts a week will give you double the gains, right? Well, actually it couldn't be more wrong.
Training too often doesn't allow your body sufficient time to recover and therefore you won't see the kind of muscle gains you want.
Even though your muscles are worked hard at the gym, it is only during periods of rest that the muscles are able to repair themselves - and it is this repair that actually causes them to grow bigger and stronger.
Training too often will not only prevent you going from boney to buff, but also could cause you to suffer unwanted injuries.
