Why Are You Stressed?

Here are some of the most common causes of stress:
  • Finances
  • Health
  • Job-related
  • Overall economy
Or it can be these:
  • Public speaking
  • Relationships
  • Job interviews
  • Schoolwork
Which ones of the above cause you stress? One? More than one? If you said yes to any of the above stress-inducers - you are not alone! We live in a stress-filled world right now and more than one or two of the above stressors affect many of us and some affect us simultaneously [a double or triple whammy] What stress or bothers you will depend on your living circumstances, your country, your age and your sex.
You can't really escape stress - and you may not want to - as stress has some positive value...
But - you want to be in charge of your stress - not have stress in charge of you! So - here are a few ideas that may help you alleviate and/or control your stress..

Be sure to get enough sleep Being sleep deprived only makes everything harder for you.
Your body and brain need down time so they can work efficiently.
Sleep and dreams serve many good purposes - and you do dream even if you do not recall them.
Be sure to eat nutritious foods When stressed we tend to not eat or eat what's easily available.
Fast foods are fast - not necessarily nutritious.
Often they are calorie-laden and fat-laden which may actually increase your stress.
And - if you read the ingredients, you may find you have no idea what you are really eating - another potential health stressor! Take time to prepare real food.
Food preparation in itself can be a stress reliever.
Think ahead about what you, or you and your family or you and your friends are going to have for a meal and involve them in the decision, buying and preparation of the meal.
You'll be eating better and also socializing - two great stress reducers.
Be sure to socialize Chatting with your family or friends works wonders to reduce stress.
And talking to them about why you are stressed will not make you more stressed - you'll probably find you have company in your stressful feelings.
Maybe these socializings can help you discover a way to change your life so you eliminate some of your stressors.
Sharing with others can lead to ideas on other ways to alleviate your stress -and who knows - you might wind up with a great idea that helps you solve many of the causes of your stress!
