      Designed by world-renowned architect Richard Bloch, Ayza Wine and Chocolate Bar is one of Herald Square's more upscale fine dining restaurants. It's sleek and contemporary design creates an elegant atmosphere that still allows for casual dress, and the establishment has both indoor and outdoor seating. In addition to the regular menu, Ayza boasts a wine list that includes over 90 fine wines and champagnes from across the globe and a special gourmet chocolate menu. As of March 2010 dinner entrees range from $15 to $21.

    Keens Steakhouse

      Established in 1885 in the heart of the Herald Square theater district, Keens Steakhouse was a popular hangout for actors and artists of that era. Today the landmark restaurant and banquet hall still stands and operates a full bar, restaurant and four banquet halls in its original location. The decor features dark wooden walls lined with framed photographs and paintings, and the focal point of the main dining room is the oversize wood-burning fireplace. Keens offers lunch, dinner, dessert, a pub menu and daily specials. With specialties ranging from steak dinners for three to pan-seared Loch Duart salmon, the average dinner price per person in March 2010 is roughly $20 to $50.

      The size of a loft or warehouse, Stout Restaurant and Bar maintains a cozy atmosphere with a decor of cobblestone floors, wooden fixtures and natural brick walls. The numerous televisions mounted over the bar on the main floor lend a sports bar feel to the room and fans gather daily to catch games, while the mezzanine level and back room offer a more intimate setting. Stout's bar has more than 20 beers on tap and stocks well over 100 bottled beers, domestic and imported. The menu at Stout offers new versions of American pub and steakhouse favorites. The average meal per person ranges from $10 to $25 as of March 2010.
