How to Decorate a Wedding Guestbook
- 1). Remove the pages from the guest book and set aside. Lay the satin right side down on your work surface. Open the guest book and place the outside down on the satin fabric. Using a pencil, trace around the guest book an inch from all four sides. Cut the satin fabric on the drawn line.
- 2). Place the quilt batting on your work surface. Open the guest book and place the outside down on the quilt batting. Cut the batting next to the edges of the guest book all the way around.
- 3). Place the guest book with the outside up on your work surface. Apply craft glue to the outside cover of the wedding guest book. Lay the quilt batting on the surface, matching the edges.
- 4). Lay the satin fabric right side down on your work surface. Center the wedding guest book with the outside cover down on the satin. Apply a thin dab of hot glue to in the inside corner of the book. Pull a corner of the satin to the inside of the guest book, over the hot glue. Repeat on the remaining three sides of the book. Do not fold too tight or the book may not close correctly. Apply a line of hot glue along the inside edges of the guest book and fold the sides of the satin to the inside back. Trim around the three-ring bar if necessary.
- 5). Measure the inside front cover of the book. Measure and cut two pieces of lightweight cardboard a 1/4 inch smaller than the measurement on each side. Place the satin fabric, right side down on your work surface. Place the two cardboard pieces on the satin and cut around a 1/2 inch larger on all sides. Apply a thin layer of glue to the back edges of the cardboard and fold the satin to the back. Do this on both cardboard pieces. Allow the glue to dry. Apply craft glue to the inside of the wedding guest book cover. Center and place the cardboard over the glue. Attach clothes pins around the edges of the guest book to hold the covered cardboard in place until the glue dries. Do this on both the front and the back cover of the wedding guest book. After the glue dries remove the clothes pins and reinsert the pages into the guest book.
- 6). Arrange the lace wedding appliqués on the front of your wedding guest book. When you are pleased with the arrangement, apply craft glue to the back of the appliqués and attach to the wedding guest book. Allow the glue to dry.
