Niche Research and Selecting a Niche With Buyers
In reality you can blog about whatever interests you but that doesn't mean that every topic will be profitable.
If you want to make money with your blog then you're going to have to put some thought into niche research and choosing a niche that has buyers.
You want to be a little fish in a mid-sized pond instead of a big fish in a puddle.
Unfortunately there are people who think that they can throw up a blog, write some articles and start making money.
Don't you wish that were the case.
People will return to quality content and will even pay for valuable information, but you can't just write about anything and expect to make a lot of money online.
In general people care about themselves, their friends and family, their needs, passions and hobbies.
They don't want to know about what you ate for breakfast.
The bottom line is the importance of selecting a niche where people are already spending money and searching for information.
So if you find a niche that has people searching and spending then you're definitely on the right track.
You'll need to set up your blog the right way though.
Many people involved in internet marketing choose to focus their blog in the internet marketing niche which is highly saturated.
On the other hand, there are many sub-niches that are quite profitable where it will be easier to make a name for yourself.
Bloggers can focus in ares like: article marketing, search engine optimization or private label rights, just to give a few examples.
These niches have people who are always searching for information and are spending money.
These two things combined make having an internet marketing blog a good idea for many people, but it's not the right route for everyone.
There and other niches which might be a better option for you.
Perhaps you are a new mom and you realize the weight loss difficulties many women have following child birth.
You could start a blog focusing on this one topic.
You know that people are seeking out this information and that they are willing to spend money to find a solution.
It is also a lot less saturated than the crowded, general weight loss niche.
This is just one of the many niches that you could possibly explore.
It's important to use standard niche research practices in order to make your decision.
Browse the trending topics to get some ideas.
Go to sources like: Google/trends, or popular blogs at Google/blogsearch, or best-selling, nonfiction books at amazon/best-sellers-non-fiction.
You'll really want to dig deep with some keyword and market research to find out if there are products you can be an affiliate for within your selected niche.
It's critical that you don't skip this research part.
It will dramatically limit your success.
Run a successful blog by doing the research first.
That's one thing I hear over and over again.
Spend the time up front to conduct quality research in an area that interest you.
Your goal should be to make yourself an expert in your niche even if you're not an expert right now It's amazing how much we can learn and ultimately do, if we set a goal and take action.
