" As an entertainer you need to have that freedom to make the act and show so unique that people walk away with the feign that regardless of what they saw it would not have been special if someone else did it.
You must make it so unique that it screams out your uniqueness.
I am a huge fan of that roaring twenties era, a time when 'so called' mobsters and gangsters walked arm in arm with popular entertainers like Sammy, Frank, Dean and more.
If you look at entertainment back then you will soon see that each of these entertainers was so unique that when I say just their first name you know in a split second who they are and what they do.
The populates of these entertainers would not have stood the test of time if they were not enjoyable, entertaining and unique.
If you are an entertainer, you must strive for this same uniqueness in your act and show.
What are people saying about your act? What makes it unique? If you had to 'do it or die' what would you do to make them remember you for everything you have done in your life? I often use this in my business and I have often called it a term that I did not coin - the gun to the head attitude.
I think of it like Al Capone called be into his office for some reason and said to me: "We gotta do it or die - we gotta try Mark" at that point he pulls out a gun from his pocket, cocks it, puts it to my head and morphs to Clint Eastwood as he says to me: "So, are you feeling lucky punk?" I know right there, I must find a solution and quick.
Okay, maybe that is a bit graphic.
However, if you try that same idea when you have to develop your uniqueness you will soon see it works without a doubt.
As an entertainer, when you feel that 'pressure' and use it to help you...
as a creative thrust...
you will find that answer and develop that uniqueness.
