I found out about this campground on the Web, and I RV camped there in August 2008.

Describe your camping trip:

We've camped at Heritsage several times over the last 3 years in both summer and fall. We've been in a 28-foot trailer with full hook-ups, a camper with electric and water only and in tents on the primitive camping loop. This is a great campground for families or new campers.

Pros: Lot's of family activities. Heated outdoor pool with pool toys available in the office, nightly hay wagon ride, nightly movie for the kids in the rec room. Laundry facilities, a campground store for the marshmallows you forgot to bring, wood for sale, flush toliets and free hot showers in the main campground, very clean port-a-potties in the tent loop. Family owned and operated, great staff! Private camping areas, lots of trees. Petting zoo with goats to feed and free Wi-Fi by the pool.

Cons: Not my favorite place when camping without the kids, as it can get rather noisy during the day with all the bikes and such. During the week, certain parts of the campground can get some road noise.

Nearby attractions: Only a few minutes out of Olympia, so very easy to drive into town and check out the Capitol, hit the Farmers Market, etc. Only 5 minutes off I-5, so it's a pretty good spot for making base camp and taking day trips around Western Washington. The campground hosts some great events as well.

Further comments: Check them out on the Web and reserve a spot early! They fill up fast, and on holiday weekends the best spots can be booked months in advance.
