Party Supplies - How to Select the Right Ones For a Bridal Shower

A bridal shower is a fun and festive way for friends and family members of a bride-to-be to celebrate her impending nuptials.
While tradition affirms that the maid of honor usually plans the bridal shower, these days, anyone close to the bride can play hostess.
From the food to the shower favors, the supplies used to create the perfect bridal shower should capture the spirit of the party and enhance the overall theme.
Here are a few considerations to keep in mind when choosing the right party supplies for the shower.
Consider the Theme - Every aspect of the shower should work to enhance the theme you have chosen.
For example, if you are throwing a formal garden tea party, use fresh flowers, potted plants, and decor items in pastel colors to decorate.
For favors, give out potted orchids or a mini gardening kit complete with garden gloves, a shovel, and seeds.
Choose a Color Scheme - Pick one or two hues to comprise the overall color scheme and choose party supplies in those colors.
For instance, if you are throwing a racy lingerie shower, consider using red and black as the color scheme.
Showcase the colors through the use of balloons, candles, flowers, and other inexpensive yet festive decorations.
Abide by the Budget - Every good hostess always sets a budget when planning an event; a bridal shower should be no different.
Determine your budget prior to making any purchases on party supplies and stick to it! When planning all the details, keep a mental tally of how much everything will cost and if you find yourself over budget, look for small (unnoticeable) ways to cut back.
Games/Activities - Figure out what games or activities you want to play and what supplies you will need for each one.
If many of the guests do not know each other, make sure to plan a few introduction activities to help break the ice and games centered around the theme.
Don't Forget the Favors - When purchasing the shower supplies, don't forget the shower favors! Again, they should center around the theme.
If you are throwing a spa shower, send guests home with a home spa kit or the bride-to-be's favorite mixers if you are throwing a cocktail party.
