  One of seven villages in the town of Barnstable on Cape Cod, Hyannis is often called the "Capital of the Cape" because of the transportation options there. Barnstable has more than 100 miles of beach, including Craigville Beach, which the primary beach in the area. But be warned: Many beaches are not open to visitors. The Barnstable Municipal Airport is nearby and serves Boston, Provincetown, Mass., and New York City.

The Bistro restaurant, which serves a typical American menu, is part of the hotel. Meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 400 people are available. • The Heritage House is an AAA-rated three-diamond rated resort with a full-service restaurant, function rooms and wireless Internet throughout. The hotel features an indoor pool and a jacuzzi, plus an outdoor pool. Guest rooms have two double beds, two queen beds or one king-size bed. This hotel is located in the main street waterfront district of Hyannis. Across from the hotel is the Cape Cod Railway Station and bus depot. Hyannis Harbor is within walking distance. • The SeaCoast Inn provides a laid-back vibe and free continental breakfast in the center of Hyannis.
