Side Effects of Vancocin
- Individuals taking Vancocin may notice an unusual taste in the their mouth. The taste may be bitter or otherwise unpleasant.
- Vancocin may also cause nausea. Some individuals may also experience vomiting.
- In some cases, taking Vancocin has been linked to hearing damage and kidney damage. Also, Vanocin may kill blood cells that are needed to fight off infections and those blood cells that aid in blood clotting.
- Rarely, Vicocin causes severe skin reactions that need immediate medical treatments. Symptoms of a severe skin reaction include skin rash, hives and scaly-looking skin. Also, skin welts and other skin discoloration may occur. In rare cases anaphylaxis may occur.
- Another type of allergic reaction that may occur when taken Vancocin is called Red Man's Syndrome. Symptoms of Red Man's Syndrome include breathing difficulty, wheezing, itching hives, pain, chest muscle spasms, back muscle spasms and upper body flushing.
