• The Hotel Vintage Plaza is in the center of Portland's busy downtown, right on Broadway. This 117-room hotel has a variety of room types to set the mood for a romantic stay. The Starlight rooms allow guests to look at the stars from their beds. Also, there are the garden spa rooms, which have private balconies on the ninth floor outfitted with spas. Hotel deLuxe

• The Hotel deLuxe is a magnet for Portlanders during the warm and dry summer months, as the hotel projects classic movies on an outdoor screen on the building's roof. It is a five-minute walk from PGE Park, home of the Portland Timbers soccer team. Each of the rooms has at least a queen-sized pillow-top bed. The deLuxe's most high-end suite, the Marlene Dietrich, features a circular bed that's eight feet in diameter.
