Vivian believes a mutual hatred for Carly Manning is a good place to start with her and Victor. “Oh my God, it can’t be!” says a stunned Kate as she arrives. “Katie DiMera, as I live and breathe!” exclaims Vivian. Kate asks what Vivian’s doing there. Vivian claims there’s no place like home. “And there are no three people like Katie, Viv, and Vic,” smiles Vivian, remarking how it’s just like old times.

Vivian recalls how it only seems like yesterday that they were fawning over their miracle child Philip. Kate wants to know why Vivian came to Salem. Vivian offers her congratulations to Kate for taking over her old role as Mrs. Stefano DiMera, asking how it’s going for her. Kate claims it’s going very well and needs to get going. Vivian states that she’ll be living in Salem from now on. Victor quips how he’s tickled pink. Vivian says she’d like to see some old friends, ex-husbands, and “certain persons of interest.” Kate implores Vivian to go where she wants and do what she wants, but warns her nemesis to stay away from her and to stay away from Philip.

Victor can’t help but chuckle after Kate leaves. He admits that he was disconcerted when Vivian first breezed in there, but now he’s coming around. He says he forgot how stimulating it is to be around a woman like Vivian. “The party doesn’t have to end now,” implies Vivian.

DiMera Mansion

Sami states that she’s keeping Sydney until E.J. can manage to distance himself from Stefano.

E.J. believes it makes sense that Sydney stays with someone she’s used to. Sami insists that Sydney is used to her. They head out into the foyer to continue their argument. Nicole sneaks around the back and sees Sydney sleeping through the window. She opens the door and comes inside. Out in the foyer, Sami and E.J. continue to argue about Sydney’s living arrangements. They soon hear a noise. Nicole is standing by Sydney’s playpen.

Stefano soon arrives home and insists to Elvis that they can’t leave things the way they left them, referring to it as too torturous. “You bastard!” chastises Sami. In the living room, Nicole kneels down by Sydney’s playpen and smiles at her. She tells a sleeping Sydney that she just wants to hold her one last time, promising to leave afterwards.

Back in the foyer, Sami lays into Stefano for stealing her child and letting his son grieve for a child that wasn’t even his. Stefano insists that his son doesn’t know what an excellent reason he had for doing what he did. E.J. rehashes how Stefano allowed him to grieve for a child that wasn’t his and allowed his wife to carry out a horrendous crime, then led him to believe that Nicole was sane when she’s actually insane. “Oh, cry me a bloody river!” responds Stefano, who insists that he did what he had to do because Sami is a menace in their family. Stefano accuses E.J. of turning into a quivering statue anytime he’s in Sami’s presence. As they continue to argue, Nicole holds Sydney and wonders how she’s supposed to leave her with all the fighting and shouting going on.

Nicole contemplates leaving, believing it would be insane if she took Sydney. Meanwhile, Sami tells Stefano she can’t wait for Roman to find out what he’s done. Stefano dares her to get the police involved so they can screw this case up just like they do every other case. Sami intends to make sure Sydney and Johnny have nothing to do with Stefano ever again. Stefano tries to convince Elvis that Sami is the destructive force behind every rotten thing that’s ever happened in his life. E.J. tells them to stop it, noting how quiet it is in the living room. He opens the door and they are horrified to discover that Sydney is gone. E.J. yells for Mary and Harold. Kate arrives home and informs them that she saw someone moving away from the house. E.J. rushes out and Sami immediately concludes that Nicole has taken Sydney. Nicole is outside with Sydney.

Maggie’s House

Carly has just asked Maggie if she can move in. Maggie wonders if there’s any particular reason she would prefer to live there. She explains that it’s not fair to Bo or Hope to be living at their house, and she doesn’t have time to look for an apartment. She recalls how Maggie and Mickey were always kind to her, and she wants to be around people she knows right now, promising to explain everything that’s been going on in her life and why she’s back in Salem. Maggie assures Carly that she’s a dear friend, but she’ll have to run it by Mickey before she makes any decisions. She also points out that she has two young women living there with her now. Mia reemerges and notes that Carly is still there. Maggie shares with Mia the possibility of Carly moving in. Carly asks Mia if it would be okay with her. Mia unenthusiastically says it’s up to Maggie, who suggests talking about it another time.

After Carly leaves, Maggie notes that Mia’s still in a lot of pain. Mia tearfully wonders why she didn’t know Grace was hers. Maggie encourages Mia not to blame herself. Mia reveals that she saw Will and Chad, who both feel bad for the way they treated her. She cries how she wouldn’t care if they both hated her for the rest of her life if she could just have her little girl back. Maggie embraces a distraught Mia, who apologizes for breaking down. She tells Mia she has to bake some pies for the Thanksgiving dinner at the homeless shelter and asks if she’d be interested in helping, believing it would help Mia if she stayed busy. She reminds Mia that they’ve all suffered loss, but it helps to remember all the wonderful blessings they’ve been given. Mia apologizes for not being in the spirit of the holiday and can’t be thankful for anything right now. She remarks how Sami has a blessing, though.

Maggie recalls one of the worst times in her life was when she was drinking and felt so out of control, then she realized one day that she needed some help, so went to a meeting. She learned how important it was to be thankful for what she still had. She encourages Mia to either go upstairs and feel sad and lonely, or help her bake some pies. Mia smiles and agrees to help Maggie.
