How To Find Your Target Audience To Explode Your Network Marketing Business
Although these techniques look good on paper, they won't generate the kind of income necessary to call yourself a success in network marketing. Companies focus on playing the numbers game to increase their overall sales. This happens because when you get tired of flapping your gums to every person you meet and wind up quitting, you'll leave behind one or two customer who will continue buying from them. Works out well for them in the end, but not for you.
Sadly, it takes too much time and money for companies to focus on proper marketing education. So they do the best they can and tell you to put all your efforts into talking to everyone you meet. Eventually, you'll find someone who wants what you have to offer, right? The problem with this is that it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Proper marketing education teaches you how to be a magnet so those needles come out of the haystack and approach you.
Contrary to popular belief, not everyone wants what you have to offer. I am sure that your product or service can benefit each and every person on the planet in one way or another, but that doesn't mean they will go out of their way to get it. Your target audience are those people who have enough of a desire and a want for your product that they are willing to come to you in order to get it. You want people who will jump through hoops and bend over backwards to try your product.
Not every overweight person wants to buy a weight loss product, and not poor person wants the opportunity to become rich. It can get frustrating seeing a person suffer when you know you have a solution, but they have to be willing to want it for themselves. You won't find these people by loitering around all day in the grocery store parking lot and you won't find them in the address book that you haven't opened in five years.
Uncle Fred might be nice and try your product once, but he won't have the desire to continue using your product like your target audience would. I'm not saying you could never find a satisfied customer in your circle of influence, but the chances of it growing your business to the level of making you financially independent is extremely slim. That was a great technique that worked for people 30 years ago before the market was over-saturated with people selling everything under the sun.
The best way to begin looking for your target audience in today's economy is to get to know who they are. You can not help people if you do not know what they go through on a day to day basis. What are they afraid of? What have they gone through to get to the point where they need your product enough to want to hunt you down for it? Proper marketing is not about how you are going to sell something, it's about who is going to buy it.
After you feel as though you have a connection with the type of person who would really benefit from what you have to offer, think about what they have tried in the past to get the kind of results they could get from your help. What other products offer what you offer? How much did they pay for it? What benefits might your product have that your competition might not have that would get them the results they need?
Have you ever been on a website that sold movies or books and after you bought something, there is a section that recommends other titles you might like? Finding your target audience is kind of like that. Instead of signing up for an expensive lead system or spending every waking hour of the day handing out flyers at your local mall, start looking for lead generation agents online that can help you get quality leads for pennies on the dollar.
Whatever you are promoting, you can always find lists of people who have recently purchased products from a competitor. These people obviously have a need, want or desire for what you have, so that takes away a lot of those straws of hay that you would have to weed through talking to strangers. The best part is that you can get them for about 10 cents a lead! The average success rate for leads will always be about 10%, so why spend lots of money when you don't need to?
Of course, your success rate will depend on your skill set for talking on the telephone, and a variety of other aspects that can only be taught to you with proper marketing education. If you are spending beyond your budget for outdated techniques that aren't getting you anywhere, perhaps it is time to make some changes. There are lots of people willing to find you and purchase your product. You just have to be willing to learn how and where to look.
