What Can We Learn from the Words They Write?

Is it possible to profile an author's personality by the words that they write? It may well be, in fact, it is quite possible to predict not only their behavior in the future, but their decision making process in a number of different situations.
To illustrate this point, below are some words which were created in a dialogue about human civilizations and disruptions from too many free-thinkers, innovators or creative geniuses.
Here are the words: abstract, accept, acceptable, achieve, acquisition, activity, actual, adapt, adaptable, adaptations, adjust, advances, advantage, affecting, africa, ahead, along, altered, although, amount, anarchy, anticipate, anything, anyway, archeologist, argue, armed, arms, around, asimov, aspects, asteroid, attempting, avoid, backwards, barriers, based, because, becoming, bigger, billion, blown, books, breaker, bubble, building, businesses, capable, cascading, cash, catastrophe, cave, certainly, changes, chaos, china, chose, circular, civilization, civilizations, civilized, classes, climactic, climate, collapse, comes, comment, committee, committees, communication, completely, complex, conflicts, connected, constant, consume, correcting, created, creates, creative, cultural, culture, cultures, currency, currently, curves, cycles, damage, dangerous, debate, definition, demise, density, desires, detached, diamond, died, different, direction, directional, disadvantage, disadvantages, disingenuous, disrespected, disruption, distribution, doesn't, doing, doom, doomed, due, dummying, easier, easily, easy, economic, economy, education, egos, embellished, encountered, enhancement, enjoy, enjoyable, entire, essay, essays, establish, etc, everyone, everything, evokes, evolution, execute, exhibits, extremely, eyes, factors, fail, fails, falter, fascinated, fewer, flame, flickering, flipping, float, flowed, flows, folks, following, forever, forth, franchise, freedom, friedman, frogs, fulfill, fulfilling, fury, futures, futurists, gdp, gel, genius, geniuses, given, gives, global, gloom, goes, going, groups, growing, guerrilla, handle, happens, having, helps, higher, hitting, humans, hysteria, ideas, ignore, immediate, immersed, impasse, impose, in-between, incited, including, independent, india, indoctrination, Indonesia, industrializing, inflation, influences, infrastructure, innate, innovation, innovators, instability, instance, intensify, intensive, intent, inter, interacting, interested, interesting, into, Isaac, issues, Jared, Kissinger, knows, lasted, leads, leaving, lengths, lessons, liberty, lived, longer, looking, loses, maker, mankind, maximum, maybe, means, media, methods, Milton, minds, minor, misunderstanding, monetary, mosaique, mosiaque, moves, multi, multiple, myriad, nations, needed, needless, needs, news, neutral, onto, opportunity, outside, overlay, parts, pathetic, pecking, periods, personally, perspective, pieces, places, plague, planners, plate, platform, playing, political, pollution, population, populous, powers, predict, prefer, prevent, problematic, procreate, productivity, products, program, progress, progression, projects, promoted, prophesy, proved, pure, purpose, puzzle, quantum, rapid, rays, reading, reality, really, reasons, recommend, records, redesign, regarding, regards, relative, relevant, religion, remain, remains, redundancies, renewable, reporting, resources, rests, revenge, right size, rocket, running, s, scarcity, scenarios, scheme, seek, seems, selling, sells, serious, setting, simplify, slaughtering, social, socialization, societies, society, solar, something, sometimes, species, speeding, squares, stagnates, stagnation, standard, standpoint, statement, stomachs, stress, strikes, structured, sufficient, suns, superstitions, surprising, sustainability, sustainable, systems, taken, takes, talking, tectonic, telling, tend, tendency, territory, terrorism, theory, therefore, things, thinkers, throughout, thrown, through, total, towards, transportation, trapped, travels, trend, trends, trying, TV, un, undercapitalized, unfold, universe, using, various, visionary, whack, warn, wars, watching, weak, wealth, weapons, wired, within, without, works, years.
You know what is so very interesting? The most repeated words used in the dialogue pretty much what the subject of the topic is:
  1. Humans
  2. Civilization
  3. Species
  4. Rapid
  5. Issues
  6. Theory
  7. Wars
Theory of issues with human species civilization, rapid changes leading to wars.
This is why search engines work so well on the Internet.
So, that makes sense to you of course, now then the secondary set of most used words includes:
  1. Nations
  2. Culture
  3. Chaos
  4. China
  5. collapse
  6. advantage
  7. works
  8. system
This is enough to classify the subject discussed, but it still does not tell us the mood or intent of the author, but with a little more work then surely we should be able to figure that out too.
I believe the various adjectives and adverbs would convey intensity, intent (trying to persuade, explain, allegorize, compare).
From this list of words, we could find probability to those too.
Various words together increase intensity, focus, refinement, etc.
, therefore values can be given to those as well.
Within the context of each sentence, values can be created and added or subtracted from a total score.
The nationality of origin also matters, some cultures use language differently - also if the writer is educated VS.
non-educated.
We can use ISP #'s to classify by region right? Yes and No, Bloggers for instance perhaps, but many people posting on forums or writing may post from locations other than their origin; such as an Austrian in the United States or an Australian in Boston, MA.
I will have to think on this, but it appears even with a small sampling like this we can indeed tap into the personality of the individual writer.
The more writing on more subjects we have of the same author, the easier to ascertain the individuals decision-making in complex situations, within a proximity that is acceptable.
However, in seeing all this, it appears to me that "I" might not be so easy to figure out having so many unique experiences in so many different areas, industries and endeavors.
Still as a case study, I am certain I might be able to figure it out, as I am looking for clues that would show this writer as a:
  • Realist
  • Entreprenuer
  • Athlete
  • Competitive
  • Philanthropist
  • Innovator
  • Pragmatist
  • Systems creator
  • Atheist
  • Traveler
  • Over Achiever
  • Thinker
  • Doer
  • Writer
Because that is what I am - or at least showing such traits, clues that would help define the individual in various settings in order to predict decisions or responses to various stimuli.
Now then, would such a person react to various stimuli in the way we predicted? Can we get a close proximity once we know this? I think so, thus I will be thinking on this.
Hmmm? What say you?
