Connecticut only has one indoor water park. However, you will find three water parks within a three hour drive of most parts of Connecticut. All of the indoor water parks in the area offer family friendly facilities. Each park has its own special features and offer overnight accommodation, so you can choose the park that best suits your needs. - Situated in the town of Waterbury at the Holiday Inn, Coco Key is Connecticut's only water park, as of 2010. The park covers 55,000 square feet and has a constant temperature of 84 degrees. The park has a variety of water activities, including three raft waterslides. Its Parrot's Perch section focuses on young children. It has water cannons, slides and a zero-depth entry point. Older children and adults can enjoy Coconut Grove's tube ride and the Coral Reef Cavern. Coral Reef Cavern has an animated wall display and water basketball.

You can zip down one of its four body slides or relax in its large whirlpool. The park also has a special area for small children that pours water over them as they play. The Dip-in Theater is another section for children under 48-inches tall. The theater has a number of slides and shows movies on a screen during special events. You can reach the park from central Connecticut in just over two hours.

Adults can enjoy the park's whirlpool and sauna. The main feature of the Caper Codder is its wave pool, with waves that reach a height of 2 feet. The pool uses the high intensity ultra-violet light system to sanitize the water. If you stay at the resort you can gain entry to the water park for free. You can reach the resort in three hours from most parts of Connecticut.

The park keeps temperatures at a comfortable 80-degrees year round. Its main features consist of a lazy river, white water rafting, body boarding and surfing. Children over 42-inches tall can use the body boarding area and sign up for lessons. The park has a special area for children ages 6 and under. Thrill seekers can enjoy the white water rafting simulator, complete with a 41-foot drop. The park takes about three hours to reach from Connecticut.
