Between the holiday season, birthdays, Father's Day and other family celebrations, you might find yourself wondering what to get your dad as a gift this year. Also, you might have to find a gift that is inexpensive so you do not break the bank. Thankfully, plenty of gift options exist that you can give your dad and spend under $10. - Print out your favorite photo of you and your dad together or a photo of you that your dad likes. Or, pick a different photo altogether that he will enjoy. Order a 4x6 or 5x7 print, which typically costs a few dollars at most photo finishers. Then, pick out a nice frame for $5 to $6 to complete the gift. Many dollar stores sell frames cheap, or you can find one on the bargain rack at your photo finisher or other retail store. Include a personal message to your dad to make the gift even more special. Put the photo in the frame with the message written on a note behind the photo, on the back of the frame or on the photo itself. Wrap it up and give it to your dad. The gift only costs a few dollars, but the memory contained in the photo will stay with him as long as he lives. If you have kids, you can also swap out the photo and buy a frame of your kid's artwork to give to your dad.
- You can purchase gift cards for a variety of retailers in almost any amount. If your dad loves his coffee, treat him to a $5 or $10 gift card from the local gourmet coffee shop. Or, get him a gift card to an online music store so he can purchase and download some of his favorite songs, which are typically around $10 for an album or $1 or $2 for a song. You can also get him gift cards to home improvement stores or hobby shops he likes to visit.
- Ten dollars will not get you very far at an expensive designer clothing boutique, but you can buy attractive clothing items for your dad with $10 if you do a little work. Visit outlet malls or discount clothing stores that sell last year's styles for significantly reduced prices. Button-down shirts and ties are items you can likely find for around $10 at discount or outlet stores -- and he can wear them for years. Also, socks may not be very much fun to buy, but your dad may need them. He will appreciate the functional gift.
- If your dad likes to cook, consider getting him a cooking utensil or accessory. You can buy him grilling tongs or a small kitchen appliance like a wine opener or spatula for under $10. They might not be the most fancy gifts, but every time your dad uses the item in the kitchen or at the barbecue grill, he will think of you.
