The Single Best Muscle Building Exercises - Do They Exist?
We're in a rush to get good at something immediately, and search high and low for shortcuts or ways to fast track ourselves.
One way new lifters look to fast track themselves is by finding which few exercises work the best, and attempting to stick with them and only them.
While it's important to know which exercises are most effective (skull crushers over triceps kickbacks, for instance) it's also important not to limit yourself.
Bodybuilding is a sport which requires variety by necessity.
Let's see what I mean by this...
So you've discovered that squats are the best exercise for the quads.
You've also discovered that dead lifts are the best for the lower back, etc.
Why would you want to waste your time with anything other than the best? Because you have to! That's not me telling you, it's your body: Your body demands regular variety to keep the muscles growing bigger and stronger.
It's just the way it works.
Getting bigger and stronger is about giving your body something different to what it expects.
Therefore, in time, repeating the same exercises over and over without any kind of change (even subtle changes are often enough) sends a signal to the muscles: "We're not doing anything new, don't bother adapting.
" Anyone who tells you to use the same exercises constantly and says there's no problem in doing so is either ignorant or dishonest.
Even the very top lifters (bodybuilding and strength) usually have a massive array of different exercises to provide them with the variety they need - and they always welcome more variety.
Instead of trying to figure ways to make your universe shrink, you should always be looking for ways to make it expand, because there's no such thing as the single best way to build muscle, as anyone who has gotten anywhere noteworthy will testify.
