TTC With PCOS - Stories of Hope

Women who have the condition know what it's like to have PCOS - TTC with polycystic ovarian syndrome is undeniably hard.
If you're one of those unfortunate enough to be diagnosed with PCOS, and yet want to get pregnant, the frustration can ultimately lead to despair and depression.
You don't have to give up on conceiving, however.
While TTC with PCOS is difficult, it's not impossible.
All across the country, more and more women are learning of breakthroughs in conceiving despite the condition.
For many of them, the methods have resulted in stunning successes.
Here are just three inspirational stories that prove there is hope for getting pregnant, even if you have PCOS: Going Natural After Eva noticed she hadn't been getting her cycles back since quitting the pill, she decided to have herself checked.
It turned out that she had PCOS, along with hypothyroidism.
While her doctor immediately recommended Metformin, Eva decided to go with the natural approach - a low glucose index (GI) diet and some natural supplements to aid her ovulation.
She also opted to lose weight to further help regularize her cycle.
She decided to start out with acupuncture.
She agreed on a five-week program with her therapist, and then they would determine if she was responding to the treatment.
She also started taking zinc supplements - zinc is a mineral that aids ovulation, and she was slightly deficient in it.
Her mercury levels were high, and so she had to cut tuna from her diet.
That same diet cut out sugar, refined carbohydrates, and artificial additives.
Eva's weight-loss program consisted of going to the gym 4 times a week for cardio workouts, doing body balance exercises once a week, and taking a weekly swim.
When all was said and done with, she lost a total of 15 pounds.
Finally, she took different herbal supplements to detoxify her system and promote ovulation.
All that work finally paid off just one month later, when she ovulated and subsequently conceived.
She is now the proud mother of Noa, her beautiful baby girl.
It's All in the Diet Sarah was 30 when she was diagnosed with PCOS, and it was heartbreaking.
However, she was determined to get pregnant, despite the condition.
She went to a fertility expert who set her up on different treatments - metformin and Clomid - but to no avail.
She then opted to undergo laparoscopic ovarian drilling, a rather invasive surgical procedure, to boost her chances of getting pregnant.
Sadly, it didn't work.
Her periods were still wildly unpredictable, and her ovulation was out of whack.
Although many would have given up hope at this point, Sarah didn't - and neither did her gynecologist.
Her GYN referred her to an endocrinologist who specialized in cases like Sarah's.
The endocrinologist immediately suggested that Sarah go on a low GI diet, and to get help from a dietician to work on that.
Sarah went through the necessary lifestyle changes, even buying measuring cups to make sure her sugar intake was controlled, and she eventually got used to the changes.
Months after starting the new lifestyle, Sarah decided to head to the IVF clinic to try her luck.
To her surprise, the doctors told her she had ovulated that month! Fast forward about a year later, and Sarah didn't have just one baby - she had twins! Talk about a double blessing! A Couple of Clomid Babies Speaking of twins, Melissa had a pair of her own, thanks to Clomid treatments.
What's even more impressive is the fact that the twins - a boy and a girl - came after her first daughter, also conceived with the help of Clomid! Melissa is one of those rare cases where the medication works like a charm; despite her PCOS, she's had relatively little trouble conceiving when she wants to.
To date, she's had three pregnancies since taking the medication for her PCOS, and she's never been happier.
These three stories prove that there is indeed hope for women TTC despite having PCOS.
All it takes is patience, effort, a little bit of luck, and the right treatment for your case.
