How to Download a Web Page and When That is a Good Idea
If the page is on the web it MUST be the most recent version.
So, let me explain the process...
It is important to understand that when you download something you do not take offline whatever it is you're downloading.
It will still be showing on the web - you just have a copy of it on your own computer now too.
When you have made the necessary changes on the copy you have downloaded to your computer, you upload it again to the web and the amended version will override what was already there.
Right, that's the process.
Here are the exact steps you need to take: 1.
Go to your ftp Client (eg Filezilla) and connect to your account at your Hosting Company.
2.
Right click on your mouse to create a new folder/directory in your Local Browzer (at the lhs of the screen) and give it a name eg webpageversion2 3.
Then find the index.
html file in the public_html folder in your Remote Browzer (at the rhs of the screen).
4.
Highlight the index.
html file - drag it over to the Local Browzer in the same section that the new folder is showing - and let go.
It will now show under the new folder, meaning that a copy is now on your computer.
5.
Go to your html editor eg Kompozer, browse to locate the new webpageversion2 folder and amend the page which you downloaded into that folder.
6.
Save and upload the amended page to the web.
Well done!
