How to Get Permanent Marker Off Linoleum
- 1). Apply rubbing alcohol to a washcloth to dampen it. Blot the marker stain with rubbing alcohol. Allow the alcohol to sit on the linoleum stain for five minutes.
- 2). Blot the marker stain with paper towels. Blot the stain until it no longer transfers to the paper towels.
- 3). Apply the rubbing alcohol to the stain again and continue to blot the area. If the permanent marker stain still appears, treat it with mineral spirits.
- 4). Pour 3 tbsp. of mineral spirits into a bowl. Dip a small section of a washcloth into the mineral spirits and rub it over the permanent marker stain.
- 5). Wipe the linoleum with a damp washcloth to remove any remaining rubbing alcohol or mineral spirits.
- 6). Apply a floor wax to the linoleum to protect it. Follow the instructions on the floor wax to ensure that you apply it properly.
