Bulletin Board Ideas for January & February
- Create a bulletin board all about January holidays. Staple blue poster board paper on the board and hang up a January calendar with decorative stickers on each holiday. List the holidays in order of occurrence on the side of the board as well. Decorate the board with different decorations that capture each holiday during the month. For instance, a party hat and noise maker with confetti can resemble New Year's Day and a bird can symbolize National Bird Day. You can also create different boards focusing on one particular holiday within the month of January.
- Design a bulletin board about one main February holiday, such as Valentine's Day, or create a calendar bulletin board displaying all the holidays within the month of February. Staple red poster board paper on the board and hang up the children's February holiday crafts. You can also focus on making a board about specific causes. February is American Heart Month and Canned Food Month.
- Make a bulletin board about the children's goals for the New Year. Create this board in early January, and ask each child to come up with a goal for the year. Decorate the board with colorful poster board paper and paper decorations that match up with the goals that the children choose. Feature a picture of each child on the board, along with his goal underneath. You might want to place a picture of a bike next to a boy who wants to learn how to ride a bike. Place a big paper "A+" next to a girl who wants to get good grades.
- January and February still fall within the winter time frame, so you can also showcase some of the children's snowflake crafts. Staple light or dark blue poster board on the board and cover it with snowflakes that the children make. Cut out a picture of each child and glue this in the middle of the snowflake they created.
