Planning a Birthday Party Can Be Easy With These Tips

Some years back, a child's birthday consisted of cake and ice cream, a pony ride, and a few friends that brought inexpensive gifts.
Games were played such as "pin the tail on the donkey" and "blind man's bluff.
" Things have changed as more and different interests have presented themselves.
A young boy might like a superhero party.
If you have the party at your home, you might decorate the house to look like the secret lair of his favorite superhero such as the bat cave or Superman's "mountain fortress of silence and solitude, etc.
" All the guests would dress as their superhero, or super villain.
Young ladies might enjoy the superhero party by dressing as Wonder Woman, Cat Woman, or Susan Storm of the Fantastic Four.
Since most children's parties include both sexes, be sure to include activities that will appeal to both.
A word of caution: small children may have the tendency to fight if not properly supervised.
If you have good guys and bad guys, they may want to imitate the things that happen on television or in the movies.
Be sure to have plenty of grownup support from the parents of the other children.
Include non-combative games on the activity list.
Some games you might consider are: the "Mr.
Freeze Dance" where Batman music is played and the dancers have to freeze when the music stops; the "Kryptonite Toss" where small balls are painted green and tossed into buckets with Superman's picture on them.
Points would be given and enough points would win a prize.
Your invitations could be sent on comic book type stationery or as a postcard from the superhero of note.
Since most of the superheroes have movies these days, the invitation could be a card that looks like a film clip.
Along a similar venue, pirates have been very popular since the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies.
This would be a costume party, also.
Young girls might identify with this better than the superhero party.
Your party spot would need to resemble a pirate ship, and you might have stuffed parrots or, if you dare, some real ones.
Party games might include: pin the eye patch on the pirate, a treasure hunt, or a version of walk the plank.
The eye patch game should be self explanatory.
A treasure hunt could involve a cigar box full of gold doubloons, with hints given during the party up until the time one of the "pirates" finds it.
The game of "Walk the Plank" would involve the use of several 2 x 6 boards placed end to end.
The participants would be blindfolded, spun around, and pointed in the right direction.
Points would be given based on how far they get on the boards without stepping off.
If you have enough children, they could be grouped in "crews" with the winning group getting a prize.
Small children love dress up parties.
When planning a birthday party for them, have plenty of activities and keep an eye on what is happening.
They will remember your party for years to come.
Make the memory a great one including plenty of fun and games.
